Join us for this live virtual presentation and Q&A session to hear about the benefits, eligibility criteria, and selection process of the William D. Clarke, Sr. Diplomatic Security (Clarke DS) Fellowship. The Clarke DS Fellowship is accepting applications for the 2027 cohort from Oct. 13, 2026, to Nov. 30, 2026, at 11:59 pm (EDT).

College and university faculty, advisors and fellowship directors who want to help their students learn about this opportunity, as well as students who are interested in applying for the fellowship, are all invited to join us for this webinar.

This two-year fellowship program, managed by the U.S. Department of State, provides up to $42,000 annually in academic funding for the last two years of a full-time bachelor’s degree program or a two-year, full-time master’s degree program. The fellowship also provides summer practicums, professional development and mentorship. Upon successful completion of the fellowship program and Foreign Service entry requirements, fellows will receive an appointment as a DSS Special Agent in the Foreign Service – and launch an exciting career at the forefront of law enforcement and international affairs.

In this webinar, you’ll hear about the eligibility requirements, benefits, selection process and timeline. Plus, you’ll hear directly from a DSS Special Agent about what it’s like to work in the Foreign Service.

You’ll hear:

  • An overview of the Clarke DS Fellowship program and the role of DSS Special Agent in the Foreign Service
  • The eligibility requirements for students to apply, including the student’s timeline to graduation.
  • The benefits of the fellowship program, beyond the academic funding
  • How the Clarke DS Fellowship program prepares students for careers as DSS Special Agents
  • Requirements of applicants selected as finalists and requirements of Clarke DS Fellows
  • The assessments Clarke DS Fellows need to pass to complete the program and become DSS Special Agents
  • And much more!

You’ll have a chance to ask questions during a live Q&A session.

If you aren’t able to attend the live webinar, you’ll get access to the on-demand recording.
